WHAT IS COUNTRY LINE DANCING?
Country line dancing is a choreographed form of dance where people perform in lines or rows, typically to country music. This dance style involves a series of steps that are repeated throughout the song. Participants do not need a partner, as the focus is on the group formation and the synchronized movements. It originated in the United States and is often associated with country music and western culture. It is a popular social activity. Country Line Dancing is a great way to have fun, exercise, and socialise with others who share a love for music and dancing.
WHAT WILL WE DO IN A COUNTRY LINE DANCING CLASS?
During the 6 weeks, you will learn a total of 6-8 different line dances. Each week, you will focus on mastering one specific dance, allowing you to build upon your skills and knowledge each week. By the end of the 6 weeks, you will have a repertoire of 6-8 dance routines that you can perform with confidence and precision. Make sure to attend each class in order to fully learn the dance and improve your dancing skills. After the 6 weeks is complete, we will start another 6 week course, learning another 6-8 new dance routines.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
When attending a country line dancing class, it's essential to wear comfortable and functional clothing that allows for free movement. Opt for fitted tops or breathable T-shirts paired with jeans or comfortable pants that have a bit of stretch. Sturdy footwear is crucial, so choose cowboy boots or dance shoes with a smooth sole for easier sliding and turning. Avoid overly loose clothing that may get in the way while dancing. Don’t forget to accessorize with a cowboy hat, if desired, to complement your outfit!
